Critic Scott Yanow wrote that she had "one of the most wondrous voices of the 20th century." Sarah was born on March 27, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey.
Apr. 4, 1990 Bernhard Rensch dies at age 90 in Münster, Germany. He was an evolutionary biologist and ornithologist who did field work in Indonesia and India. Starting his scientific career with pro-Lamarckian views, he shifts to selectionism and became one of the architects of the modern synthesis in evolutionary biology, which he popularized in Germany. He was born on January 21, 1900 in Thale, Germany.

May 22, 1990 Rocky Graziano dies at age 71 in New York, NY. He was a boxer, and was World Middleweight Champion in 1947. He had a total of 83 bouts with 67 wins, 10 losses, and 6 draws. After his boxing career, he cohosted a short-lived television series, The Henny and Rocky Show (1955) with famous comedian Henny Youngman. He was a semi-regular on The Martha Raye Show, as Raye's boyfriend (1954-1956). He appeared as a regular on the United Artists first-run syndicated TV series Miami Undercover for its entire run (aired in 1961), and appeared in several series and shows, including The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom; Car 54, Where Are You?; I've Got a Secret; and Naked City. He portrayed Packy, an ex-boxer, in the 1967 film Tony Rome. In the 1960s he opened a pizza restaurant, Rocky Graziano's Pizza Ring, on Second Avenue in Kips Bay, Manhattan, creating a modest franchise for the restaurant in the New York City area. He briefly operated a bowling alley in North Babylon, NY. He was born Thomas Rocci Barbella in Brookly, New York, NY, on January 1, 1919.
