Giovanni D'Anzi, an Italian songwriter, is born in Milan, Italy. He died at age 68 in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy, on April 15, 1974.

Joseph Miroslav Weber, a Czech composer, dies at age 51 in Munich, Germany. He was born on November 9, 1854 in  Prague, Czechia.

It's the first of his two no-hitters against Brooklyn (the second one occurs on August 6, 1908). Not only does Brooklyn get no hits, but they also make five errors in this game, and have a 4-13 win-loss record so far this season after this game. This game takes only one hour and 20 minutes to play.

The Boston Americans lose the first game in what would become a 20-game losing streak. They lose to the New York Highlanders, 8-0, at Hilltop Park in New York, NY.  Bill Hogg pitches a complete-game 1-hit shutout for New York. The Americans commit 4 errors and the Highlanders have 3 errors.

By the end of 1906, Avalon Water Works is supplying water to Catonsville, Ellicott City, and Ilchester. It is a project of Victor J. Bloede. The Catonsville part of the project has a 3-mile-long, 12-inch-diameter supply pipeline that takes water from a spring at the former Avalon village site on the Patapsco River and transports the water to a pumping station in Catonsville. From there, the pumping station distributes water via water mains and pipes to individual homes, businesses, and other buildings in Catonsville. to fire hydrants along Frederick Road, and also to a water tower on Melvin Avenue.
